About INTU.BID and "unable to verify financial institution"
QBO and QFX files carry an Intuit bank identifier (INTU.BID, mirrored in <FID>). QuickBooks Desktop and Quicken check it against Intuit's directory of banks that support Web Connect downloads. If the ID is unknown or the bank has dropped Web Connect, the import fails with an "unable to verify the financial institution" style error.
Like other converters, we default to 3000, the Wells Fargo entry in that directory, which converters commonly use as a generic value. The only visible side effect is that the import dialog may show a Wells Fargo label; the transactions still go into whichever account you pick. If you know your own bank's Web Connect ID, enter it in the INTU.BID box instead. QuickBooks/Quicken remember the combination of bank ID and account number, so keep both the same each time you convert the same account.
FAQ
QFX or QIF for Quicken?
Use QFX when you can. Quicken applies renaming rules, memorized payees and duplicate matching to QFX imports. QIF imports in current Quicken versions go straight into the register without that processing.
Quicken says it cannot verify the financial institution.
Keep INTU.BID set to 3000 (the default) or enter your bank's Web Connect ID from Intuit's directory, then convert again.
Quicken created a new account instead of using mine.
During import choose "Link to an existing account". Keep using the same account number in the converter for that account so Quicken remembers the link.
Is my bank file uploaded anywhere?
No. The page reads the file with your browser's built-in file APIs and builds the output on your device. There is no server-side code: you can open your browser's developer tools, watch the Network tab while converting, and see that no file data is sent. See the privacy page.
Is it free?
Yes for up to 10 transactions per file in every format, with full preview and editing. Pro removes the limit for $29 one-time. Try the free export in your software first. If a file you export with Pro won't import into the software you made it for, you get a full refund within 30 days of purchase. See the refund policy.
